PINE64 manufactures a range of 64bit Arm devices, including laptops, tablets and smartphones as well as single board computers and compute modules. All devices run mainline Linux and an open software stack, making them ideal for Arm-on-Arm development, learning and experimentation.
PINE64 provides the necessary hardware to start learning about, and developing for, the Arm platform. The hardware portfolio centers around SoCs which are well supported by a wide range of Linux distributions and, in some instances, also the BSDs. But PINE64 is also a community with thousands of developers, who cooperate and share resources; software support and documentation is largely community run and driven.
The Pinebook Pro is an Arm laptop built on a 64bit hexacore big.LITTLE SoC architecture. It ships with Manjaro Linux, but is capable of running many popular distributions that offer Arm packages in their repositories. It is ideal for Arm-on-Arm development on the go.
Embedded and experimental platforms
PINE64 offers a wide range of experimental platforms, ranging from a fully open smartphone to a mITX form-factor 7-node cluster; all running Linux and an open software stack on Arm. The hardware has been used in everything from DNA sequencing to video game consoles.
PINE64 works closely with its software partners and community to deliver hardware. At its core, the underlying philosophy of the project dictates openness; the goal is to deliver hardware which developers want to support and end-users want to use.
